  1. The World Government Summit 2023 held in Dubai from 13-15 February, 2023 under the theme of “Shaping Future Governments”.
  2. The Government of India has launched a mobile app ‘Khanan Prahari’ and a web app ‘Coal Mine Surveillance and Management System (CMSMS)’ for reporting unauthorized coal mining activities.
  3. The Mizoram Assembly on 14 February, 2023 unanimously adopted an official resolution opposing any move to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC).
  4. The country’s strictest Anti-Copying Law has come into force in Uttarakhand. Governor Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh has approved the Uttarakhand Competitive Examination (Measures for Prevention and Prevention of Unfair Means in Recruitment) Ordinance 2023 on 10 February, 2023.  
  5. Italian researchers have discovered a Black Galaxy or Invisible Galaxy using ALMA (Atacama Large Millimtre Array).
  6. For her assistance to refugees in Germany, former German Cancellor Angela Merkel was awarded the UNESCO Peace Prize. 
  7. India’s first air-conditioned double-decker electric bus was inducted into the fleet of Mumbai’s BEST transport body on 13 February, 2023.
  8. The 2nd Indian Rice Congress 2023 was inaugurated in Cuttack by President Droupadi Murmu in the presence of Odisha Governor Prof. Ganeshi Lal, Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Narendra Singh Tomar, and Odisha Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment, Fisheries, and Animal Resource Development, Ranendra Pratap Swain.
  9. Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has unveiled the design of a new supersonic jet trainer, Hindustan Lead-in Fighter Trainer (HLFT-42) for combat aircraft training of the Indian Air Force (IAF) at Aero India 2023.
  10. MRF Ltd. Chairman and Managing Director K.M. Mammen was presented the ATMA Lifetime Achievement Award by Maruti Suzuki India MD and CEO Hisashi Takeuchi at the Automotive Tyre Manufacturers’ Association (ATMA) Annual Conclave 2023 in New Delhi.
  11. Eoin Morgan, who led England to their first-ever ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup title in 2019, has announced his retirement from professional cricket on 13 February, 2023.

  13. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has presented the President’s Colour to Haryana Police in recognition of its exceptional service. 
  14. The New Zealand Government has declared a National State of Emergency for just the third time in its history as Cyclone Gabrielle causes widespread flooding.
  15. Ujjivan Small Finance Bank launched Hello Ujjivan, India’s first mobile banking application with 3 V’s–voice, visual, and vernacular-enabled features, to provide banking access to individuals who have limited reading and writing skills. 
  16. Veteran theatre and film actor Javed Khan Amrohi, best known for his roles in the popular DD serial Nukkad and films such as Lagaan and Chak De! India, passed away on 14 February, 2023.
